v1.4 Graphics Settings and Performance
Boars in Rome » Devlog
We really want to avoid the usual complaints with Unreal games: especially to do with performance and stuttering. So...
Graphics Settings & Performance
The game should run better now, especially on low-end hardware.
- Optimised materials and shaders.
- Optimised flooded level.
- Added anti-aliasing mode setting. (disabled, FXAA, TAA, TSR).
- Added material quality setting.
- Added LoD (Model) quality setting.
- Overall graphics setting now sets screen resolution to 50, 75, 100% (low, medium, high). Will be adding a dedicated slider for this in the future.
Sidenote
We tested the difference in performance on a high end PC and an old, low-end laptop.
On recommended settings, in the flooded level:
- High-end had a 33% increase in FPS from ~75 to ~100.
- Low-end had a 100% increase in FPS from ~15 to ~30.
On low settings:
- High-end could achieve FPS above 300.
- Low-end could achieve FPS between 30-50 FPS.
